The Cane Corso or Italian Mastiff is an Italian breed that was originally created from canis pugnax, which were used during times of war for the Roman army. The Cane Corso was highly valued in Italy as a companion, guardian and big game hunter. For years now the breed has continued to be kept for guarding purposes, hunting and as a family companion.  The Cane Corso is the ultimate guardian of property, family and livestock.
